How can we strengthen epidemic preparedness and response in Africa?
This is the topic CEPI and the Africa CDC will be exploring on Wednesday, August 28, at the seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7).
We will be hosting a high-level panel event to discuss the challenges of epidemic preparedness in Africa and how CEPI, the Africa CDC, and its partners in Africa can and should be working together.
To help us examine this important topic, we will be joined by a wide range of expert panellists including:

What is TICAD?
TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on African Development) is a summit-level international conference focusing on development in Africa. Created in 1993 by the Government of Japan, TICAD promotes policy dialogue between leaders of African countries and development partners on pressing issues facing Africa, such as economic development, poverty, and conflict.
TICAD is co-organised by the Government of Japan, the United Nations, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the African Union Commission. Its stakeholders include all African countries and development partners, including international and regional organisations, partner countries, the private sector, and civil society organisations.
